God made a covenant with Abraham that would extend to the multitudes of seed and offspring of Abraham. This we understand now is the Jew and Gentile grafted and adopted in the family of God.
Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Thank you Heavenly Father for your truths that are tried, refined and faithful! We have trust in you because your word is our blessed hope in clarity, understanding and wisdom in your character and attributes. It shows us all how you value free will. I will share my belief regarding this "passage regarding Abraham and His son Isaac and what I believe is the significance of it. It is prophetic. It was for understanding and still is. There are many, many views on the particular fact of Abraham presenting His only son Isaac as a sacrifice. However, Abraham knew before that God would present a "lamb" in the bush. What Abraham did was to Have Faith and act on His faith. That seed of Abraham which is "Faith as was counted for Righteousness per God Himself," is given all and any of these following in "earth time" who know God looks at motives and the heart which is faith.
