Am I trusting the Lord to place within me ways to endure? I honestly don't know when the Lord is going to return. I can seek Him for the answer. I can watch the signs and consider what He shows me and tells me in HIS word. I can listen to as many preachers and pastors that I have access to.
I must, through hardships, troubles overcome in faith and in the knowledge and wisdom that He gives me. I am not the only person who has gone through rough times and seen the struggle of others. I lift them up to the Lord to shelter, care for and to relieve their heartache, hurts and struggle. I seek help from the Lord for them. Should I lay aside the knowledge or wisdom that the Lord has given me along the way? Or should I depend on the Lord and be grateful that He has given me knowledge and wisdom to help me to endure and to overcome? Can I exclude the common sense of a matter and instead become like a lost and wandering animal without direction or sense to get out of the winds that blows, the searing rain, or the sharp, cutting edges of the hail that comes in the storm? Did the Lord show Joseph the coming famine? Did Joseph take this to heart and apply it for himself and others in the actions he took to store up the grain? Did the Israelites not plant their crops in rotation and allow the ground to lay fallow for a time?
Was this not for good reason and to sustain their source of good nutritional food? Have we not read of the very practical and life sustaining laws and information that the LORD gave man throughout the scriptures? Did His wise people consider and follow what the Lord taught them and in so doing enabled them too to press on in HIM?

No one knows the day or the hour. All of us understand the reason HE has said this to us. We are to watch. We are to go about doing the Father's business. We are to continue to seek HIM and praise Him and grow in our faith, our knowledge and our wisdom that HE has given us. We are always to expect Him and use what He teaches us. WE apply the knowledge and the wisdom that HE has blessed us with.
In our society, and our way of life, all of us have come to depend on others to provide for some of our basic needs. I am within this society myself. I turn on the faucet and expect water. I feel warm so I turn on a fan. I feel cold so I press the button to increase my heat. I'm hungry so I run to the store or open my refrigerator. I'm having a headache so I swallow a pill. I fear a prowler or an invader so I lock my door before I sleep.
Would the Lord have us lose our common sense in the world we are living in today?
