By Daughter Of Promise
I stand here today and look out of this glass.
I wonder what life is for me, I ask.
Will the window show good in store for me?
Or will it show what I dread to see?
Some days I look and the glass is unclean.
Just look at my past and see what I mean.
Some days it is clouded and my view is unclear.
I can't see my way, overwhelmed with such fear.
Some days I see rain, like the tears I have cried.
The thunder is roaring, I sit down to hide.
The lightning flashes and blinds what I see.
I know this isn't the life meant for me.
Then there's a dark window I try to see out.
All I see is a reflection of fear and doubt.
I cry out to God, on my face I will fall.
I ask Him to show me my true life and all.
There’s a rap on the glass and I look up to see.
A glimmer of light shining brightly on me.
The pane is removed and I see the Lords face.
"Come here my child." In His arms, we embrace.
"Look in My eyes I will show you your life.
It has no darkness, heartache and strife.
See yourself as I do, He explained.
The life that I give you, free from all pain."
I looked into Jesus’ eyes, so amazed
At the price He had paid, and as I gazed,
His eyes so loving, compassion in His look.
Eyes so piercing, my heart He took.
My fears finally vanished, the pain was all gone.
All I heard now was His glorious song.
I then saw me, in the reflection of His eyes.
The unconditional love, His Spirit says “Arise”.
I saw the life that He planned just for me.
It started way back when He hung on that tree.
I saw the suffering and pain on His face.
But it was for me, so I could finish this race.
It's God's perfect will, for me to succeed.
Not to be down and unable to breath.
Not just for me, but for all who believe.
Just look in His eyes, be ready to receive.
His eyes are the windows to our souls and our heart.
Just see through those windows, don't be torn apart.
His best for you awaits there inside.
In the eyes of our Lord, let your spirit arise.
